Mallipoo is the Tamil word for jasmine, and this cream handwoven Chanderi is covered in it. Vines of jasmine flowers, leaves, and buds climb across the saree in vivid threadwork, with small cutwork openings scattered along the way.
The Chanderi silk is handwoven and diaphanous, soft in the hand with a rich texture, and it falls with the weightless ease of a fine silk. The embroidery stays delicate, letting the cream read clean and bright.
It comes with a soft salmon pink Chanderi blouse piece embellished with tiny beads and zari embroidery. The salmon and the 1.5" border bring a little warmth to the cream without taking over.
